Job Overview In Canada the Bridge Department has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Québec City. We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer (Bridges) to join our team in Ontario. The role reports to the Manager, Bridges – Central Region and involves project management and structural leadership on bridge and transportation engineering projects. Responsibilities Carry out project management and serve as structural lead on bridge and structural engineering projects. Develop, analyze, design, evaluate, inspect, and execute a variety of projects. Lead a structural design team for a range of projects. Apply advanced engineering techniques and tools to solve complex engineering challenges. Direct, coach, support, and guide engineers and technicians assigned to projects. Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines. Prepare proposals and participate in business development, including publications and conferences. Prepare structural designs, evaluations, and contract packages for the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) and key clients such as MTO, Metrolinx, municipalities, and TTC, incorporating applicable policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals. Qualifications Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a structural major). Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with PEO. Experience reviewing condition survey reports and recommending rehabilitation strategies. 15+ years of experience in engineering practice, including analysis and design of various bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset. Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance‑of‑Way Association (AREMA) Code, and TTC and Metrolinx procedures. Demonstrated experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team delivering projects of varied complexity, type, size, and scope. Proficiency in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, STAAD PRO, ETABS, Bentley ProjectWise, and Microsoft Office applications.
