We are actively working on the feasibility study for the A220 new development which is an exciting milestone for the A220 Program. In this context we are looking for the right leader to embark on this journey.
The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Senior Specialist in Mechanical Design to join our Flight Test department based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will be part of the Test Means team responsible of the test benches design and the experimental installations on our Flight Test Vehicles.
The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as a Senior Specialist in Mechanical Design will be to lead a design team to define experimental mechanical & structural equipment to be installed on flight test aircraft.

Your challenges:
Work closely with flight test crews as well as other engineering disciplines to gather design requirements leading to the definition of experimental equipment on board test aircraft
Lead and manage a team of structural and mechanical designers in the development of sketches, drawings, or other technical documents
Organize and support preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews with stakeholders
Involve flight test crews throughout the design process to ensure the final product meets their needs
Train new employees in your area of expertise
Coordinate and support suppliers providing parts and systems leading to their final assembly and installation on the test aircraft
Your boarding pass:
You hold a degree in mechanical engineering
You have over 15 years of relevant experience
You possess leadership qualities and also have management experience
You have experience with experimental aircraft equipment (A220 experience is an asset)
You have extensive expertise in structural and mechanical design
Knowledge of CATIA is mandatory
You are proactive and have an interest in the aerospace industry and systems integration
You are resourceful and capable of finding creative ways to achieve the desired result, adapting to rapidly changing situations and emerging obstacles
Ability to work under strict deadlines within an integrated and multidisciplinary team
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with subject matter experts regarding a range of technical and operational topics
Due to the sector of activity (aerospace), frequent contacts with Airbus entities worldwide, and interactions with suppliers and clients also located across the globe, proficiency in English is required for this position.
