Senior Software Application Engineer Lead the architectural evolution of core business systems. Analyze existing system designs and data models, identify critical optimization opportunities for scale, performance, resilience, and cost, and drive execution of the vision. What You’ll Get To Reimagine and implement the future of tech for the music industry Work as part of a dynamic and highly effective team Own the creation and delivery of highly innovative products Implement maintainable solutions with high quality and reliability that can scale as our business continues to grow and expand Learn and grow as a professional through close collaboration with your team members and engineering leaders, and by being part of a culture of continuous improvement and learning Provide mentorship to other engineers, fostering their professional growth and success Respond to incidents and perform on‑call duties with an eye towards root cause fixes and improvements Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field At least 6 years of experience in backend or full‑stack development Deep knowledge of AWS or other large cloud computing environments Strong distributed systems skills: ability to design fast, scalable architectures and measure latency, throughput, etc. Experience with testing, monitoring, paging, and incident management (operational excellence best practices) Strong understanding of developing APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing Experience building large‑scale data processing pipelines and/or high‑availability dimensional data stores High sense of ownership and drive to deliver impact in fast‑paced, evolving, ambiguous environments Experience designing projects with good abstractions and clean architecture Strong debugging skills, diagnostics, and resolution of complex issues Drive to grow, learn, and master software development craft Compensation Base salary: $112,000 – $152,000 CAD per year.
