What & Why: Our client is a leading global fintech company seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join a high-impact team responsible for building and operating customer data systems at scale. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within an Identity and Trust organization, working on high-throughput, high-availability infrastructure that sits at the core of the business. You’ll bring strong backend engineering fundamentals and a track record of owning complex distributed systems end-to-end. You will lead technical design, drive projects from architecture through production readiness, and mentor other engineers, all while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions with real regulatory and operational significance. This role is well-suited to an engineer who operates independently, thinks carefully about long-term system health, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity across multiple teams and competing constraints. With a presence across more than 170 countries, they have built a reputation for combining rigorous compliance standards with customer-first product design at global scale. The company recently opened a Vancouver office located in Metrotown, offering a collaborative hybrid work environment with three days per week in office. You: You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role: 6+ years of backend software development experience with demonstrated ownership of production systems Expertise in Java, Go, or Python, with experience designing secure, scalable distributed systems on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms Experience with both relational and non-relational databases, with strong data modeling fundamentals at scale A track record of leading technical design, mentoring junior engineers, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike Compensation: This role pays between $85-105 per hour.
