JMC is partnering with SinaLite / Willowpack to recruit a Software Development Manager to lead the development of software that connects customers, production teams and business operations. SinaLite is a B2B wholesale print platform serving resellers across North America, while Willowpack is a growing flexible-packaging and folding-carton manufacturer. Across both businesses, software plays a central role in delivering speed, efficiency and a strong customer experience. Reporting to the President, you will lead the development team and work closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Data/BI to turn business priorities into practical, reliable systems. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys solving operational challenges, managing competing priorities and ensuring the systems their team builds are successfully adopted. Key Responsibilities Software Delivery and Project Management Lead software intake, prioritization and roadmap planning across both businesses, aligning projects with business objectives. Manage multiple projects, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and stakeholder communication. Establish clear delivery commitments and resolve competing departmental requests to keep the development team focused. Architecture and Business Systems Guide architecture decisions across legacy systems, modern applications, APIs, e-commerce platforms and reporting tools. Modernize existing systems incrementally while protecting business continuity, data integrity and established business logic. Oversee access management, technical documentation and cross-training to support reliable, secure operations. Operational Improvement and Adoption Lead improvements to pricing, costing and order-management systems in partnership with Finance and Operations. Advance Willowpack’s customer portal and production workflows, including quoting, ordering and artwork processes. Deliver inventory, material planning, scheduling and traceability tools that support production efficiency and food-safety requirements. Partner with business teams on requirements, procedures, training and implementation, measuring adoption and addressing gaps after launch. Team Leadership and Innovation Lead, coach and develop a small, experienced software development team, supporting recruitment, performance management and career growth. Remain technically involved through code reviews, architecture decisions and troubleshooting. Expand the effective use of AI-assisted development and automation, supported by strong review practices, governance and cost controls. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. At least seven years of software development experience, including three years leading a team delivering business-critical systems. Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory, scheduling, pricing or order-management systems in manufacturing or a comparable operational environment. Strong technical judgment across legacy applications, modern development stacks, APIs and e-commerce platforms. Experience managing multiple projects across departments, with clear plans, priorities and progress reporting. Demonstrated success leading change and helping operational teams adopt new systems. Practical experience using AI coding tools and agentic workflows within a development team. Experience with Magento, NetSuite or comparable ERP integrations, SQF or traceability systems, and incremental legacy modernization would be considered assets. Business judgment: Connects technical decisions to efficiency, revenue, margin and business priorities. Communication and influence: Explains trade-offs clearly and builds trust with senior leaders, technical teams and production employees. Prioritization: Sets realistic commitments and confidently manages competing requests. Change leadership: Brings stakeholders together and follows through on implementation and adoption. Accountability: Takes ownership of outcomes, develops people and builds systems others can maintain. This position is based at the Markham head office and currently requires a minimum of two days per week in the office, subject to change. Regular time on the production floor is required to understand workflows and support implementation. Occasional after-hours or on-call support may also be required. Questions can be directed to Katie O'Neil at katie@teamjmc.ca. We thank all interested applicants; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
