Job Summary: The Senior Software Developer role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale multi-client web applications. This position requires extensive experience in Java development, Oracle or SQL databases, RESTful web services, and a strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies. The role emphasizes collaboration with IT professionals, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions. Responsibilities: Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications. Develop detailed programming specifications and write/generate code. Compile data-driven programs, maintain code, and conduct unit tests. Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems during software use and operation. Provide technical assistance during implementation, conversion, and migrations. Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. Design, code, test, debug, and document applications. Conduct design walkthrough sessions with project teams. Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues. Perform impact assessments on Oracle E-Business application customizations and extensions (if applicable). Required Skills & Certifications: 10+ years of experience as a designer and developer in large-scale multi-client web applications. 10+ years hands-on Java development experience with Oracle or SQL databases. 5+ years hands-on experience with REST API and RESTful Web Services. Knowledge of security gateways and protocols including JWT, OAuth 2.0, and SSL certificates. Experience with object-oriented coding practices, design patterns, refactoring, and clean code principles. Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies and query languages. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in teams and meet aggressive timelines. Experience with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Experience with microservice architecture and applying core architecture principles. Knowledge and experience with rapid application development (RAD) methodologies. Experience with middleware, gateways, and information retrieval packages. Experience with Oracle E-Business modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounts Payable, and Inventory. Strong programming skills in Oracle database, PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripts, and Oracle Data Integrator. Experience with Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF). Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards. Experience in public sector development standards and processes. Special Considerations: Must be available for 5 days onsite as required. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Strong leadership abilities to oversee quality assurance from a technical perspective. Scheduling: Standard work schedule with potential for on-site presence 5 days per week. May require flexibility to meet aggressive project timelines.
