Senior Project Manager – Transit Infrastructure (GTA)
Overview
One of Canada’s largest and most reputable construction companies is seeking a
Senior Project Manager
to join its growing
Transit Infrastructure division
in the Greater Toronto Area. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with deep expertise in
rail and transit projects
, looking to take full ownership of high-profile, complex builds.
You will play a key role in delivering major
LRT, heavy rail, and civil infrastructure projects
, while leading high-performing teams and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the
full lifecycle
of large-scale transit infrastructure projects, from pre-construction through to close-out
Manage and oversee
LRT, heavy rail, and heavy civil projects
across the GTA
Act as the
primary client interface
, ensuring strong relationships and successful project delivery
Provide
strategic leadership
to project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and performance
Oversee
project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
Lead
procurement processes
, subcontractor selection, and
contract negotiations
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
Mentor and develop
Project Managers, Coordinators, and site teams
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align with company culture and operational excellence
Qualifications & Experience
12+ years of experience
in construction project management
Strong background in
transit and rail infrastructure
(LRT, metro, or heavy rail)
Proven track record managing
large-scale projects valued in the hundreds of millions
Extensive experience in
pre-construction, procurement, and contract negotiation
Demonstrated success in
client-facing roles
and stakeholder management
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Work Environment
Based in the
Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
Full-time, in-office or project site presence (5 days/week)
