Why this job is a big deal
As a Release Manager working within a Product Operating Model (POM) – and supporting a business portfolio and platform – your role centers on orchestrating the successful and predictable release of value to end users. You ensure that product and platform teams deliver with quality, timing, and alignment, while continuously improving the release process to support agility, scale, and compliance.
In this role you will get to
Release Planning & Coordination: Own and maintain the release calendar; work across product, engineering, QA, and operations teams to schedule and coordinate releases; ensure releases are well-planned, communicated, and aligned to business milestones; drive readiness checkpoints confirming testing, documentation, approvals, and risk assessments are complete.
Risk & Quality Management: Identify and manage risks to release quality, timing, or rollback readiness; partner with QA and SRE/DevOps to enforce release criteria, stability gates, and post‑release validation processes; maintain compliance controls.
Cross‑Team Communication & Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as central coordination point across engineering, product, marketing, legal, and support; keep stakeholders informed of scope, timing, changes; help shape release notes, rollout communications, change advisories.
Process Improvement & Automation: Continuously improve release process, tooling, and reporting; partner with DevOps, SRE, and platform teams to advance CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and feature flagging; support shift toward agile and continuous delivery.
Metrics & Post‑Release Analysis: Track and report release health metrics; facilitate retrospectives; help assess business and customer impact of major releases.
Who you are
8–10 years of strong Agile and Project/Program Management experience with a solid understanding of release management in iterative delivery models.
Experience leading or supporting cross‑functional release planning, coordinating dependencies across multiple teams, ensuring smooth delivery through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
Fluent in Agile ceremonies, metrics, and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar) and can apply them pragmatically to drive outcomes.
Understanding of governance, communication, and stakeholder management in scaling delivery across a portfolio.
Bridge between rapid product development and operational stability; reduces friction and risk in the last mile of delivery.
Proactive in identifying risks and opportunities; comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
Experienced in coordinating software releases, especially in complex environments with multiple dependencies.
Detail‑oriented operator who thrives in fast‑paced environments and can manage multiple competing priorities.
Salary & Compensation
Salary range: $115,000 – $135,000 CAD per year. Eligible for annual bonus and/or equity grant.
