Senior Mobile Developer (React Native) at Toast — NeverHard

Job Description Toast is recruiting on behalf of an early-stage sports and casino sweepstakes platform building the next generation of fan engagement products. The company is small, fast-moving, and early in its growth, with an ambitious product vision and a team of builders who care deeply about the space. This role is central to that vision: leading the transition from a WebView-heavy mobile architecture to a fully native React Native experience across iOS and Android. The ideal candidate will take real ownership over the mobile product, working closely with product, design, and backend teams to drive activation, retention, and overall user experience. Responsibilities Drive the transition from a WebView-heavy architecture to high-performance, fully native React Native experiences Build and maintain high-fidelity features across sports and casino surfaces, with a strong focus on user activation and retention Partner with backend engineers to design clean REST APIs, handling real-time data, caching, versioning, and network resilience Collaborate with product and design to implement native-feeling animations, gestures, and pixel-perfect interaction patterns Manage the full mobile release pipeline across CodePush, TestFlight, and Google Play, while monitoring app analytics tools such as Firebase, GTM, and AppsFlyer Establish mobile engineering patterns, tooling, and testing standards Requirements 4+ years of experience shipping production-ready iOS and Android apps Deep React Native and TypeScript expertise, with strong opinions on state management, navigation, and mobile performance Experience managing App Store Connect and Google Play Console, and profiling performance issues such as memory leaks and bridge congestion Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment, leveraging AI dev tools to move faster, and knowing when to build versus when to ship A sharp eye for UX detail and the ability to push back constructively on product and design decisions Nice to Haves Background in sports betting, gaming, fintech, or other data-dense, real-time products Experience with activation, retention, onboarding, promotions, or lifecycle-driven product work Familiarity with app analytics, experimentation, attribution, or push notification systems Basic understanding of Swift or Kotlin Contributions to product thinking beyond pure implementation Benefits Competitive contract compensation reflecting the seniority and scope of the role Real technical ownership from day one, with direct influence over architecture decisions that will shape the mobile product for years to come A workstation stipend to support a strong home and hybrid setup Team lunches, dinners, and social events including darts tournaments and live sports viewings Hybrid flexibility from a Yorkville office in Toronto The opportunity to help define the mobile experience for a growing platform in the sports and casino space, with work that directly impacts how thousands of fans engage with the product Application Review #J-18808-Ljbffr
