Position Summary Lake Shore Gold (a subsidiary of Pan American Silver) is located in Timmins, Ontario. We are hiring a Senior Mine Engineer for the Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON. This is a full‑time position (Monday‑Friday, 8‑hour days or a 4 on/3 off schedule). The role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not camp‑based. The Senior Mine Engineer will carry out and oversee engineering tasks in mine planning, ground control, ventilation, longhole drill & blast, survey, and coordinate with operational staff to support production schedules. Responsibilities Supervise, train and mentor planners, EITs, mine technicians and co‑op students within the engineering department. Provide technical leadership and operational expertise to the engineering and operations team. Oversee, coordinate and prepare engineering deliverables including short/medium/long‑term planning, scheduling, infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting. Assist with the development, optimisation and implementation of a medium‑term mine plan to achieve budget and long‑term objectives safely and economically. Develop, optimise and implement long‑term planning and scheduling (reserves and life of mine), infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations and reporting. Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings with key personnel to coordinate activities and meet goals. Assist in the development of the annual mine site budget and quarterly forecasts, with support from stakeholders. Participate in the compilation of month‑end engineering reports and stope reconciliations. Lead and coordinate special projects with mine operations and contractors, managing the planning, scheduling and budgeting for each project. Monitor compliance and ensure adherence to applicable engineering codes, regulations, safety and environmental practices, performance standards and specifications. Troubleshoot problems, analyse and recommend solutions to keep mining on schedule. Evaluate alternative ore extraction methods, stope access and mining sequences; detail costs, benefits and issues and recommend the best approach. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures within engineering and mine operations. Participate actively in training programmes, personal improvement and job improvement initiatives. Continuously develop the ability, knowledge and skills necessary to keep up with changing methods and technology. Assist and coordinate special projects that arise within planning and projects teams. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Accreditation as a fully qualified Professional Engineer in good standing. Minimum of 6 to 8 years of related work experience after graduation. Experience supervising other technical staff such as engineering professionals, EITs and mine technicians. Robust leadership, initiative and innovative analytical thinking. Background in narrow‑vein, long‑hole and conventional mining methods. Experience with underground water management, seismic systems and paste fill (asset). Knowledge of engineering techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and mine operations. Strong communication skills. Strong computer skills, including Excel, Cad, and scheduling programs such as Deswik and AutoCAD. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project). Excellent organisational and time‑management skills. Ability to relate to both operations and engineering in a team approach. Must be eligible to work in Canada.
