Job Description Overview AtkinsRéalis is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer. This position requires experienced individuals who are self-starters capable of working independently and leading/supervising junior engineers. The individuals will work in a fast-paced team environment performing engineering services for Nuclear Power Plants within a matrix organization. Responsibilities Prepare and review design basis documents for both nuclear and conventional systems of the nuclear power station (e.g., design specification, over-pressure protection reports and design reports, drawings, BOMs, SCL, etc.). Prepare and review Engineering Change packages following major nuclear operator’s ECC process. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Perform calculations and assessments as required. Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress, performance and staffing needs. Directly interface with Customer’s engineering representatives. Ensure that applicable standards and regulatory requirements are met. Required Qualifications Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience (minimum 10 years in the nuclear industry as a Senior Design Engineer working on modifications to nuclear systems or components). Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing. Qualified Specialized Professional Engineer to ASME Section III, Division 1, Appendix XXIII or qualified for certification. Experience interfacing with CNSC and TSSA, including preparing correspondence letters, TSSA registration and re‑conciliation packages, code classifications and memos. Experienced in refurbishment, modifications and technology enhancement of existing mechanical and piping systems, structures and components (SSCs) in operating stations from conceptual design to available for service (AFS) and close‑out following established client Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes and procedures. Experience in plant islanding/lay‑up engineering. Mechanical, process and piping systems integration/design and analysis for SSCs (e.g., turbine auxiliary systems, moisture separators/reheaters, water treatment plant, main condenser, HVAC, station drainage, cranes, compressed air systems, water systems, chillers, etc.). Working knowledge of nuclear codes and standards, including CSA N285.0, CSA N289, ASME Section III Division 1 and ASME B31.1. Working knowledge of major nuclear operator’s ECC process. Results driven individual with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of pressure boundary work including pressure vessel design, analysis, code classification, code class boundary, non‑destructive examination and design registration is an asset. Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing ASME Y14.5 standard is an asset. Knowledge of seismic and environmental qualification methods and processes is an asset.
