A typical day on the job might look like: Providing engineering designs for civil infrastructure projects (ports,harboursand bridges) Working with diverse teams of discipline managers, engineers,designersand technicians Managing projects andbeing responsible forcompletion on schedule and financial performance Acting as a technical resource and as a mentor to junior/intermediate staff Writing,compilingand reviewing technical reports Preparing fee proposals Being a member of site visit teams, gathering information asrequiredto complement design activities Maintaining quality throughout a project andimplementimprovements when determined Preparing regular project summary reports Encouraging growth within the group and increasing the general knowledge base throughout the company Developing and sustaining long-lasting business relationships with clients Identifyingand mitigating potential hazards in the field or onsite, promoting a safe working environment.
