The YWCA Fund Development team is a diverse team of 25 who work closely together in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Senior Manager, Fund Development-Major Gifts is an integral part of a growing team and plays a key strategic role in advancing and strengthening the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Fund Development, the Senior Manager
will work with the Fund Development leadership team to lead and manage strategic initiatives.
You will be responsible for a portfolio of individual, corporate, government and foundation major gift donors and prospects and securing gifts for programs and services, capital projects as well as our $5 million campaign for the YWCA Housing Action Fund.
The position will work closely with a team of 25 to ensure that the financial goals of the Fund Development department are met and will represent the YWCA in public and one‑on‑one situations. We each work independently and are fully responsible for our own portfolios while working collaboratively as a dynamic team to meet our annual revenue targets.
Responsibilities
Working with the Fund Development Leadership team to lead and manage strategic initiatives such as campaigns, portfolio analytics, and pipeline development.
Supervise and lead team members as the team evolves.
Identify, research, and build relationships with high net‑worth prospects which will result in meetings and the solicitation of major gifts.
Be responsible for a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
Make planned giving asks to major gift donors.
Participate in, lead and support planning and execution of donor events.
Provide donor stewardship, reporting and recognition to facilitate gift renewals.
Write compelling funding proposals and other donor communication materials including letters of intent and reports.
Collaborate with colleagues to prepare proposal budgets.
Contribute to and collaborate with colleagues in Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) discussions, activities and strategies, taking lead positions on IDEA actions.
Conduct research for fund development purposes on social issues addressed by YWCA programs.
Complete solicitations on a timely basis to ensure revenue targets are met.
Ensure accurate donor records by updating donor interactions, giving intentions, communication preferences and recognition in Raiser's Edge.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
A post‑secondary degree/diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
6+ years working experience in fundraising, account/project management role or relevant role.
Knowledgeable and well‑versed in fundraising trends and practices.
Strong relationship building and a proven track record of strategy development and fundraising skills.
Knowledge of prospects with a proven track record in closing annual, major and planned gift asks.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write a variety of documents, such as proposals, reports and correspondence.
Experience with prospect research as well as researching social issues.
Experience overseeing other staff and/or volunteers.
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
Experience with Raiser's Edge would be an advantage.
Demonstrated commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA).
A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.

Pay Rate: $94,553.35 per annum (Salary Ranges are reviewed annually).
