Job Overview Our client is a clean power producer. They are looking for a Senior Manager, External Reporting & Accounting Policy who will ensure compliance with accounting standards and is responsible for the finalization, preparation, and review of financial reporting and disclosure requirements for annual and quarterly filings, ensuring all regulatory and contractual obligations are met. Responsibilities Prepare annual and quarterly financial statements, MD&A, news releases, AIF and other information used for external reporting. Review and comment on the company’s and subsidiary annual and quarterly financial statements and MD&A prepared for external reporting purposes. Review accounting developments and related external analysis; finalize internal analysis and comment letters on exposure drafts. Review and support implementation of corporate accounting and financial policies and processes that comply with external reporting requirements and US GAAP. Work closely with the Company’s external auditor to resolve non‑routine and complex accounting and finance related issues. Provide a leadership role in managing the disclosure & controls program that supports the CFO and CEO during quarterly and annual certification due diligence activities. Provide direction and supervise a team, ensuring strong performance, adherence to corporate behaviours, and clear communication of objectives. Qualifications University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting; CPA or other accounting designation required. 7 years of experience in public company audits and external financial reporting processes. 3 years of experience in public accounting firm audits. Experience in Energy, Utilities or Mining industries (mid‑to‑large public company entities) highly preferred. Transaction or accounting advisory experience an asset. Working knowledge of public company regulatory reporting environments (SEDAR, SEC, 52‑109, SOX). Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and complex technical accounting. Working knowledge of IFRS and experience with areas such as asset retirement obligations, pensions, impairment assessments and US GAAP vs IFRS differences.
