About the role We’re looking for a Senior Loss Prevention Consultant (Transportation and Fleet) to join our growing team! Salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution, internal equity, etc. The range above is based on a 35-hour workweek and covers most candidate profiles. Candidates outside this range are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Plan and carry out prevention visits to identify existing or potential risks of loss. Write quality inspection reports related to prevention visits carried out. Make recommendations based on company policies and technical expertise and follow up with insureds, underwriters and brokers. Educate insureds on sound risk management by providing technical advice on risk management and loss prevention. Answer technical questions from insureds, underwriters and brokers. Advise underwriters, brokers and adjusters on consistent application of company loss prevention guidelines. Support insureds in improving best practices by offering resources, information, and training. Assess fleet operations, safety programs, driver management, compliance practices, and control measures; analyze use of industry technologies such as telematics, electronic logs (E-logs), and dashboard cameras (dashcams). Develop and present clear recommendations, verbally and in writing, aligned with company policies and technical standards; follow up to support implementation. Qualifications Post-secondary education (bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline) or equivalent experience in trucking, fleet safety, transportation, insurance, or road regulatory enforcement. 7 to 10+ years of relevant experience in transportation, insurance, road regulatory enforcement, fleet safety, underwriting, claims, or loss prevention (specialization in commercial auto/trucking strongly preferred). Strong practical knowledge of road safety and heavy vehicle operations regulations in Canada/Quebec/United States, including: National Safety Code (NSC) standards and compliance; Knowledge of CVOR and PEVL. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Holds a valid driver’s license in good standing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and ability to work independently. Customer-focused with strong relationship-building and relationship-management skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong ability to learn, adapt, and coach. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, agility, and ability to work with minimal supervision. CIP and/or FCIP designation is an asset. Bilingual (French and English) required to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking and French-speaking colleagues and external parties across the country.
