Global Business Development Manager
to lead sales growth and develop new markets worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who enjoys opening doors, building long-term partnerships, and developing new business opportunities across international markets.
About the Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial growth strategy while managing the entire sales process—from prospecting through to customer onboarding and ongoing relationship management.
This is a highly visible role with significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence the future direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth.
Build, manage, and own a robust international sales pipeline.
Identify, prospect, and secure new customers across existing and emerging global markets.
Develop long-term relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and commercial partners.
Manage the complete sales cycle from initial contact through quotation, negotiation, order placement, and customer support.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer experience and successful project execution.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to support future growth initiatives.
Prepare sales forecasts, market intelligence, and performance reporting.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who thrives on developing new business and enjoys building lasting customer relationships.
Ideal candidates will have:
Experience selling within the horticulture, growing media, peat, agriculture, landscaping, or related industries.
Proven success developing new business and growing strategic customer accounts.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex sales cycles.
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Experience working with distributors, retailers, or commercial growers is considered a strong asset.
A self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout North America and internationally.
Bilingual English/French is considered a significant asset.
