Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Controller, the SFA, Financial Reporting plays a key role in Granites global financial reporting. This position is responsible for supporting the monthly consolidation process and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of consolidated financial results. The SFA also contributes to the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, controls, and overall reporting efficiency.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Finance and cross-functional teams across global offices to deliver high-quality financial reporting and provide insights that support strategic decision-making across Granites portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Consolidation Close
Support the monthly consolidation of financial results across all jurisdictions (Canada, U.S. and Europe), including the preparation of consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations and reconciliations.
Analyze consolidated results, perform variance analysis, and investigate significant fluctuations and underlying business drivers.
Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly close deliverables.
Quarterly and Annual Financial Reporting
Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including note disclosures.
Support the preparation of Audit Committee materials, public filings and related financial deliverables.
Liaise with external auditors and consultants for quarterly reviews, annual audits and internal controls testing.
Process Improvement & Technical Accounting
Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies and procedures.
Identify and implement process improvements, including automation initiatives and best practices, to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
Research technical accounting issues and support the implementation of new and amended IFRS.
Other
Prepare statutory financial statements for legal entities to support tax filings.
Maintain and document effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Assist with and/or lead special projects and ad-hoc analysis.

Skills and Qualifications
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
2+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting or public accounting, ideally from large publicly traded organizations.
Experience in a multicurrency environment or the real estate industry is an asset.
Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
Experience with Yardi Voyager 7s and/or Workiva is an asset.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Selfstarter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and departments.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement including an openness to the adoption of Artificial Intelligence as a tool to improve operating efficiency.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation:$90,000 - $100,000 annually, including a discretionary bonus, and comprehensive benefits from date of hire.
