About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking
Finance Advisors
to join a leading energy organization in North York, ON. This role is ideal for a CPA-designated accounting professional with strong expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, and accounting research. The successful candidate will support the General Accounting & Affiliates team in delivering accurate financial reporting, accounting analysis, month-end close activities, and SOX compliance initiatives.
This is a hybrid opportunity requiring onsite attendance
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Key Responsibilities
Perform complex accounting analysis and accounting research for the finance group.
Prepare reporting schedules supporting quarterly and annual external financial filings.
Support management reporting processes and financial analysis activities.
Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues while ensuring timely escalation where required.
Prepare accounting memos and technical accounting documentation.
Technical Accounting & Compliance
Review contracts before execution and assess accounting implications.
Maintain working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and apply accounting guidance appropriately.
Support compliance with SOX controls and internal control frameworks.
Maintain, update, and document finance policies, procedures, and controls.
Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding SOX controls and compliance requirements.
Process Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration
Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Communicate complex accounting matters to management and non-financial stakeholders.
Collaborate with Finance, Business Development, Energy Services, Corporate Financial Reporting, and Accounting Research teams.
Support special projects and ad hoc finance initiatives.
Required Qualifications
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
Experience preparing financial reporting schedules and account reconciliations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain technical accounting concepts to senior leadership and non-financial stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
