Senior Facilities Engineer
, reporting to the Team Lead, Facility and Process Engineering. The Senior Facilities Engineer is a seasoned technical professional who brings extensive experience in SAGD and conventional oil & gas facility operations, maintenance, and optimization within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). The Senior Facilities Engineer ensures safe, reliability, and cost-effective facility performance while supporting multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
This is a full‑time permanent position based out of the Calgary Corporate Office.

What you will do
Lead facility and pipeline projects from concept development through design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Collaborate with other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project documentation, including but not limited to Design Basis Memorandums (DBM), Management of Change (MOC) packages, procedures, and operating documentation.
Identify, assess, and bring forward facility and process optimization, debottlenecking, expansion, integrity, and compliance opportunities, ensuring alignment with technical, economic and regulatory requirements.
Oversee all engineering aspects—mechanical, process, civil, electrical and instrumentation—through in‑house engineering resources or external Engineering, procurement, construction management (EPCM) service providers.
Support field execution by providing onsite engineering guidance, participating in job scoping, pre‑job planning, pre‑startup verifications, and operational troubleshooting.
Serve as the MOC Engineer for Harvest change management process.
Prepare formal engineering assessments and documentation required under the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM), Pipeline Integrity Management (PLIM), MOC, and incident investigation programs.
Support effective communication and coordination between field operations and technical teams to ensure safe and reliable facility performance.
What are we looking for
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or petroleum engineering, with 15+ years of progressive experience in Western Canadian oil & gas and SAGD facilities.
Registered member in good standing with APEGA (P. Eng).
Certification and proficiency with:
Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System (PEIMS)
Pipeline Integrity Management System (PLIMP)
Ground Disturbance Code of Practice
Extensive working knowledge of ABSA, AER, BCER, CSA, ASME, API, and applicable industry codes and standards.
Our ideal candidate will also have the following:
Demonstrated excellence in managing facility engineering projects within SAGD central processing facilities (CPF), SAGD operations, and conventional WCSB assets.
Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining high standards of technical quality and safety.
Exceptional communication, analytical, organizational and teamwork collaboration abilities with strong decision‑making skills.
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of guiding and coaching construction teams, contractors, and junior engineers.
Experience leading and collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams, EPCM firms, engineering consultants, and third‑party service providers.
Ability to work independently or with other team members with a high degree of accountability, prioritization, and professional discipline.
