Senior Risk Data Analyst – Risk Data Assurance and Optimization (RDAO) Team As a member of the Risk Data Assurance and Optimization (RDAO) team, the Senior Risk Data Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with Capital Adequacy Reporting (CAR) guidelines for Retail and Wholesale Credit risk, and supporting CIBC’s risk data assurance efforts. Overview The role involves documenting and delivering the Chief Risk Officer Self‑Assessment Process (CRO SAP), collaborating with Treasury, Finance, Wholesale and Retail Business Lines to optimise Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), and providing insights into monthly RWA changes across Credit risk. It also includes monitoring regulatory developments, assessing impact, reviewing complex documentation, and communicating relevant updates and actionable guidance to the team. Responsibilities Assist in the documentation and delivery of the CRO SAP. Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Wholesale and Retail Business Lines to optimise Risk Weighted Assets (RWA). Provide insights into monthly changes in RWA across Credit risk. Monitor regulatory developments, analyse impact, review documentation and communicate guidance to the team. Drive continuous improvement of data quality and simplification of processes. Convey regulatory guidelines and technical information clearly in written and verbal form to peers and senior management. Facilitate productive risk discussions and develop and present assessment summaries to senior audiences. Build effective working relationships with risk stakeholders and peers to understand CAR guidelines, RWA and business impact. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Wholesale and Retail Credit risk, CIBC systems, CAR guidelines, and RWA calculation. Demonstrated experience with data analysis tools: Power BI, Python, Databricks, Excel, SQL. Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex information clearly. Critical thinking and analytic problem‑solving abilities. Digital proficiency and adaptability to new tools and trends.
