Our team is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Civil Design Lead to support our team for Canada in the design and delivery of water, wastewater, conveyance, and transportation projects. Opportunity exists within our Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia offices. In this role as a Senior Civil Design Lead, you'll be responsible for preparing drawings and conceptual sketches using CAD platforms, applying appropriate design criteria, and technical manuals, all working closely with engineers to coordinate designs. You'll also produce pipe networks and 3D utility models from survey data, GIS and record drawings; produce grading surfaces and designs from survey data; prepare plan and profile drawings for pipelines and chambers based on engineer's direction; perform basic land surveying, geometric, trigonometric, volumetric calculations; and organize assignments to ensure design budgets and timelines are met. You'll interface with internal and external contacts and will coordinate with multiple project design disciplines for interference checking and quality control. - At least 10+ years' experience as a Civil/Water Designer/Drafter, delivering site civil designs including site layouts buried piping and services and site grading - Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience - CET, A.Sc.T. Certification or equivalent is an asset - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, as well as in Microstation and the Bentley Open Technology software is required - Experience working with Revit - Experience using Sharepoint, ProjectWise and/or BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud - Experience leading the design of complex yard piping, chamber design and site grading in Civil 3D - Experience leading the design of large and small diameter linear infrastructure in Civil 3D and Microstation - Experience in trenchless design with methods such as HDD, TBM and MTBM - Experience in reviewing and checking deliverables prepared by other members of the design team - Experience managing and coordinating with multiple disciplines on small to large projects, including the ability to successfully manage scope, schedule, and budget locally and in global design centres - Experience mentoring junior staff and assisting them with setting up project workflows and best practices. - Understanding of relevant American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Hydraulic Institute Standards (HIS) - Experience with Greater Toronto Area, Calgary and/or Metro Vancouver standards and MMCD design guidelines would be an asset Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
