About The Role
The Senior Business Analyst is a motivated and detail-oriented professional who supports business improvement initiatives and technology-enabled solutions within the healthcare system. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the Senior Business Analyst assists in gathering requirements, documenting business processes, and supporting the delivery and enhancement of systems that improve patient care and operational effectiveness.
This role contributes to initiatives across Long Term Care, Home Care, and Mental Health and Addictions services, helping ensure alignment with client needs, organizational priorities, and government direction. The position operates within a dynamic, interconnected environment and requires the ability to understand how systems and processes impact one another as well as the patients we serve.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Manager, Continuing Care and Mental Health Services, you will:
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, and system specifications.
Develop test plans and coordinate user acceptance testing in support of project initiatives and ongoing change and release management.
Lead and support business process changes and the implementation of new or enhanced applications.
Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and health system partners to gather and clarify requirements.
Liaise with technical teams, end users, vendors, and stakeholders to support solution delivery.
Prioritize issues and manage your area’s workload.
Provide support and expertise for technology solutions and incident management.
Lead and participate in projects and working groups to support strategic priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prioritize issues and manage assigned workload in a changing environment.
Identify opportunities to improve processes through technology or other enhancements.
Provide mentorship and guidance to non-senior members on the team.
Collaborate with health partners to gather reporting business requirements and coordinate the delivery of those report requests with technical resources
Develop an understanding of key business processes and adapt to evolving business and technology needs
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on system enhancements, data strategy, and future state design.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
A post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum five years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably within an integrated IT or healthcare environment.
Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design techniques.
Proven documentation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable strategies as well as lead, develop, and manage effective relationships with stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present ideas and recommendations to clinical and IT professionals.
Knowledge of IT Service Management and Change Management concepts.
IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation and/or a PMP certification is considered an asset.
