As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you are joining a passionate software engineering team to build sequencing products to change patients' lives. You will help build highly scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based software systems. Ultimately, the software you produce will impact patient care globally. **Your Opportunity** + Architect, implement, and rigorously test backend APIs, software features, and product infrastructure. + Leverage serverless computing, distributed platforms, and cloud technologies to build robust solutions. + Utilize AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate the design, implementation, and optimization of software architecture and code. + Write clean, maintainable code, comprehensive documentation, and robust automated tests. + Research new tools, testing processes, and technologies to continuously improve our development lifecycle. **Who You Are** + 6 years of hands-on software development experience. + B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field. + Highly proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and building REST APIs for software products. + Experience with microservices architecture and development including associated tools. + Familiarity with relational databases like PostgresSQL and MySQL. + Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies and work with Agile/Lean practices and scalable architecture. + Act as an effective communicator who can navigate conflict, influence project outcomes, and support the team through strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and continuous feedback. **Preferred** + Hands-on experience building out cloud solutions specifically using AWS. + Frontend development experience, allowing you to comfortably step into full-stack tasks. + A background in life sciences, medical devices, or bioinformatics. + Experience developing regulated products under strict design controls. + Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
