Job Description Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support several high-profile technology transformation initiatives within the Market Risk and ERPM Reporting organization. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, assess application portfolios, drive documentation efforts, and support enterprise modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role across multiple strategic programs, including: - SAS decommissioning and migration to Python-based solutions - Cloud migration initiatives involving Netezza-hosted applications - Business Managed Application (BMA) governance and policy alignment - Enterprise application assessment and modernization efforts The team is responsible for developing and supporting business applications used across risk and reporting functions. Current initiatives include assessing and modernizing legacy application environments, supporting enterprise cloud migration efforts, and helping define the future-state strategy for business-managed applications. Key Responsibilities - Gather business and technical requirements from stakeholders across risk, technology, and operations teams. - Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to collect information and document current-state and future-state processes. - Create and maintain business requirements documents, process flows, assessments, governance documentation, and executive-ready materials. - Support application inventory and usage assessments, including evaluating users, programs, dependencies, resource requirements, and budget considerations. - Track action items, risks, assumptions, and project dependencies across multiple initiatives. - Collaborate with developers, architects, project managers, and business leaders to ensure requirements are understood and delivered effectively. - Support initiatives focused on application modernization, cloud migration, and technology governance. - Work independently with limited direction while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders. - Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders. Skills and Requirements - 5+ years of Business Analysis experience on technology-focused projects. - Strong requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and documentation skills. - Experience facilitating meetings and workshops with business and technical teams. - Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables with minimal supervision. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Experience working on application development, system enhancement, migration, or modernization initiatives. - Understanding of databases and data concepts. - Familiarity with SQL, Netezza, or similar database technologies. - Understanding of software development concepts and application architecture. - Exposure to programming languages such as Python, Java, SAS, or similar (hands-on coding not required). Soft Skills - Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. - Strong information-gathering and investigative mindset. - Ability to work with both technical teams and senior executives. - Self-starter who can navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes. - Strong organizational and documentation abilities. - Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment. - Financial services or banking experience. - Experience supporting cloud migration or cloud transformation programs. - Experience working on large-scale application modernization initiatives. - Knowledge of risk, market risk, reporting, or regulatory environments. - Experience supporting governance, compliance, or policy-driven transformation efforts. - Familiarity with SAS-to-Python migration initiatives.
