Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWhat it's like to be a Northbridge Senior Actuarial Analyst, Corporate Actuary
Our Corporate Actuarial team is known in the organization for being experts at providing reserving and claims insights to other departments. The team uses their strong technical actuarial knowledge to not only ensure that our reserves are adequate to protect our customers, but also to provide insights for stakeholders to make crucial operational and strategic decisions.
As a key contributor, you are tasked with the challenge of painting a picture of the company's financial health by combining data (compiling and analyzing) and applying models for the purpose of reviewing loss reserves on a regular basis, performing financial condition testing, reporting on financials including preparation of the annual, appointed Actuary report in close collaboration with our Chief Actuary. You will be preparing the necessary documents for the Appointed Actuary and the Financial Condition Testing report.
Senior analysts on the team are coaches and influential contributors; in collaboration with other actuaries and data scientists within our team, there are opportunities for developing new reserving methodologies and utilizing new tools to ensure that Northbridge stays on the cutting edge in this competitive industry.
We want your talent
If you are great at:
Compiling and analyzing data for analysis of loss reserves and loss adjustment expense reserve adequacy
Developing and verifying sources of data for analysis to ensure data is sufficient, current, and accurate
Collaborating with teammates to ensure proper communication of observed trends to key stakeholders
Coaching and mentoring junior team members
Researching, developing, and implementing new approaches to reserving and stress testing
Examining applicable statutes and precedents to prepare supporting materials for reports for submission to regulatory authorities
If you have:
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Sciences or a Master's Degree in Mathematics
Experience in Reinsuran
P&C Reserving and Stress Testing (FCT/DCAT) Experience
Passed at least 5 of the 9 CAS exams, or relevant experience
Key Software expertise (SAS, Excel, VBA an asset)
