The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, operations, and project teams, providing financial reporting, budgeting support, cost analysis, and operational accounting expertise. THE ROLE The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of the business while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This individual will be responsible for month-end close, reconciliations, financial analysis, budgeting support, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working collaboratively across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. Lead month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy. Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities. Assist with job costing, project accounting, and variance analysis. Analyze construction costs, labour, and project performance. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions. Assist with audit preparation and year-end working papers. Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures. Support financial analysis and provide insights to leadership teams. Collaborate with operations and project teams to support business decisions. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes. Experience within residential construction, home building, construction, development, manufacturing, or project-based environments is preferred. Experience with job costing, project accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP or accounting systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
