About the Engagement
tAkkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Security Platform Engineer III – Security Automation consultant to support enterprise security automation initiatives within a leading Canadian financial services organization. This engagement focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining security automation workflows using Splunk SOAR and Ansible Automation Platform while supporting enterprise security technologies and operational excellence.
The successful consultant will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to develop automation solutions, improve security operations, and support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives from implementation through operational transition.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain security automation playbooks within Splunk SOAR using Python
Design and implement automated workflows within Ansible Automation Platform using YAML
Automate security processes, including account management, certificate lifecycle management, and deployment activities
Troubleshoot and remediate issues within the security automation environment
Work closely with stakeholders to gather, refine, and document automation requirements
Support enterprise security initiatives by evaluating, implementing, deploying, and maintaining security technologies and controls
Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation and provide technical support during major incident management activities
Continuously improve operational processes and security platform effectiveness
Support project transitions into business‑as‑usual operations by developing documentation, RACI matrices, and knowledge‑transfer material
Maintain cybersecurity playbooks, policies, procedures, and knowledge‑base documentation supporting incident response and security operations
Qualifications
2–3+ years of hands‑on experience with Splunk SOAR
2–3+ years of Python development experienceExperience with Ansible Automation Platform development
Minimum 5 years of Information Technology experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
University degree or college diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Experience working within enterprise cybersecurity environments
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, AWS Security, or CompTIA Security+
Experience developing enterprise security automation solutions
Knowledge of endpoint detection and response (EDR), intrusion detection, certificate management, email security, web filtering technologies, and cloud security
Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and log analytics
Experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems
Knowledge of networking technologies, firewalls, web application firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems
Experience with cloud technologies and security controls
Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and supporting technologies
Experience deploying enterprise technologies through structured project delivery methodology
