Position Overview

Assignment
/ Schedule
This position will likely include a diverse assignment including Grade 8/9 English, Grade 11/12 Sciences, Grade 8-12 Fitness and PE (team teach) as well as Elementary Prep coverage.
Required
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
:
A valid Teaching Certificate from the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
Successful secondary teaching experience – experience teaching multi-grade classes is an asset
Demonstrated ability in planning and designing engaging learning activities using BC curriculum
Strong interpersonal skills and strengths working within a team environment
Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learners
Excellent ability to differentiate for all learners and co-plan for diversity and engagement
Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulated learning
Demonstrated understanding of indigenous cultures, and experience integrating First Peoples of Principles of Learning into teaching practice
Successful experience in facilitating outdoor learning experiences with a focus on place consciousness and cross curricular learning
Commitment to co-developing the School Growth Plan and collaboratively organizing for learning
Exemplary use of assessment strategies that engage learners and foster learning
Professional learning inquiry experience that informs professional practice
Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and community
