Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a Secondary Teacher at Vegreville Composite High. This position
is mostly Jr. High and Sr. High Art, Jr. High Environmental Stewardship, and Sr. High Wildlife. A small portion will be Jr. High Physical Education, Health & Wellness, and Career Education & Financial Literacy.
Vegreville Composite
High serves approximately 375 students in grades 7 to 12, with 21 teaching
staff and eight support staff. The school is located in Vegreville, AB, approximately
90 kilometres east of Sherwood Park, AB.
Vegreville Composite High prepares each student to contribute
fully to the community by developing responsibility, respect and a desire for
lifelong learning. The school encourages the continual striving for excellence
based on the premise that every student has the potential to learn.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
