The Work:
Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and governance of the S/4HANA 2022 to 2025 upgrade programme
Manage/Coordinate technical upgrade activities including system preparation, SUM (Software Update Manager) execution, and post-upgrade validation
Coordinate with functional, basis, and custom development teams to assess and remediate upgrade impacts across all workstreams
Oversee custom code adaptation — ABAP remediation, deprecated function module handling, and compatibility checks
Drive cutover planning, downtime minimisation strategy, and go-live readiness
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies through a structured RAID log
Liaise with SAP (via ECS team given its RISE) and coordinate OSS notes and patch applications
Ensure alignment with business stakeholders on testing cycles — unit, regression, SIT, and UAT
Provide regular status reporting to steering committees and senior leadership
This role required to be in office 3 days per week. Preferred location: Montreal, Canada.
Here’s what you need
10+ years of SAP experience with at least 2 full-cycle S/4HANA upgrade or migration projects
Hands-on experience with SUM, Maintenance Planner, and SAP Readiness Check
Strong understanding of S/4HANA 2025 new capabilities, deprecated features, and technical delta from 2022
Experience managing custom code remediation and ABAP compatibility analysis
Solid grasp of
SAP Basis activities
relevant to upgrades (kernel updates, support packages, system landscape)
Proven ability to lead testing strategy and coordinate SIT/UAT across functional teams
Strong programme governance, RAID management, and cutover planning experience
Experience with SAP Cloud ALM or Solution Manager for project tracking and transport management
English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
Bonus points if:
Familiarity with SAP Business AI and Joule features introduced in S/4HANA 2025
Prior experience in aviation, finance, or similarly complex regulated environments
Fluency in English required, French an asset.
