Job Description
The SAP Material Planner ensures the right materials are available at the right time to support uninterrupted production in a make-to-forecast environment. This role focuses on mid- to long-term material planning, supplier collaboration, inventory optimization, KPI ownership, and cross-functional alignment using SAP and advanced reporting tools. The planner drives data-based decisions, supports commercialization and new product launches, and leads continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain mid- to long-term material plans for both internal and external production environments.
Execute material planning using MRP and SAP to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of raw and packaging materials.
Collaborate with suppliers on forecasting and capacity alignment to secure material availability.
Design and refine material replenishment strategies that balance service, cost, and inventory targets.
Align material plans with demand and production schedules in a make-to-forecast environment.
Manage raw and packaging inventory levels, coverage, and accuracy to meet service and financial targets.
Own key supply chain KPIs, including CTS, fill rate, inventory targets, and material write-offs.
Monitor and manage waste and expiry risk through run-out planning, obsolescence tracking, and coordination of destruction processes.
Maintain accurate system data integrity in SAP, including MRP parameters and master data related to materials.
Analyze forecasts, inventory, and KPI performance using SAP and reporting tools, and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.
Support commercialization and new product introductions by ensuring material readiness and aligning plans with launch timelines.
Serve as the first escalation point for material shortages and delays, and lead mitigation actions with suppliers and internal teams.
Coordinate purchase order creation, prioritization, call-offs, and expediting activities to prevent production disruptions.
Manage supplier relationships through forecast sharing, performance tracking, and regular communication.
Coordinate across multiple suppliers and borders to secure supply and mitigate risks.
Partner closely with procurement to optimize materials, support sourcing strategies, and align on supply plans.
Ensure continuous material supply to production lines to avoid downtime and support production prioritization decisions.
Work closely with plant, warehouse, and logistics teams to align material availability with production and distribution needs.
Conduct root cause analysis for material flow issues, shortages, and waste, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, data quality, and supply chain performance.
Communicate proactively with stakeholders across procurement, plant operations, finance, and other functions, escalating risks when needed.
Support production allocation and prioritization decisions based on material availability and business requirements.
Essential Skills
3 to 5 years of MRP and supply chain experience in a CPG/FMCG environment.
Hands-on experience with material requirements planning (MRP) and SAP-based planning processes.

Proficiency with MS Office, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills for managing forecasts, inventory, and material flow issues.
Solid planning and organizational abilities to manage multiple materials, suppliers, and priorities simultaneously.
Experience with ERP systems, including SAP ERP, for planning and inventory management.
Ability to interpret and manage KPIs such as fill rate, CTS, inventory targets, and write-offs.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
