Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Vice President to oversee and execute the company’s sales strategy within the logistics and transportation sector. The Sales VP will lead business development efforts, manage key client relationships, and drive revenue growth while collaborating closely with operations and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, deep industry knowledge, and a proven track record in transportation or logistics sales.
Duties
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and profitability
Lead and manage the sales team, including Sales Managers, Account Executives, and Business Development
Representatives
Identify and secure new business opportunities within freight, transportation, warehousing, and logistics services
Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, brokers, manufacturers, distributors, and key clients
Establish sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the sales department
Analyze transportation market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities
Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction
Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term partnerships
Oversee customer retention strategies and account growth initiatives
Manage sales forecasting, pipeline reporting, and revenue projections
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing sales professionals
Education
Bachelor's degree, usually in Business, Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
Experience
2-3 years of sales leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or freight industries
Experience managing high-value client accounts
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
