Job Summary
Reporting to the Alberta Sales Manager, the Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth, distribution, and market presence of the Authentic portfolio across both retail and on-premise channels within the assigned Edmonton territory.
*Candidate must be located within the Edmonton and surrounding areas.*
This role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, executing brand initiatives, and identifying growth opportunities to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Retail
Drive sales of the Authentic portfolio across assigned retail accounts
Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales objectives and KPIs
Increase distribution and presence of core brands within the territory
Maximize in-store execution including shelf positioning, cold box and display execution
Present and execute quarterly promotional programming with retail partners, including chain accounts
Coordinate and execute trade days and supplier visits in line with company standards
Maintain an effective 6-week route plan to ensure consistent and efficient territory coverage
On-Premise
Develop and manage relationships with key on-premise accounts including restaurants, bars, hotels, and hospitality groups
Drive new listings and expanded distribution across wine lists, cocktail menus, and feature programs
Conduct staff trainings and product education sessions for servers, bartenders, and beverage teams
Support and execute tastings, events, and brand activations within the territory
Identify new business opportunities and build a strong pipeline of prospective accounts
Partner with accounts to increase visibility, menu placement, and overall brand visibility and performance
Administrative & Other
Record and manage daily sales activities using the CHG CRM system, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Maintain current and accurate account information and territory data
Manage budgets and expenses in accordance with company guidelines
Participate in trade shows, supplier events, and industry functions as required
Maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on business needs
Maintain a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for regular travel within the territory
Qualifications
Experience
2+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within the beverage alcohol industry
Experience in retail, hospitality, or on-premise environments is strongly preferred
Post-secondary education in business, sales, or marketing is considered an asset
Skills
Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving targets
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
Highly organized with strong time management and territory planning skills
Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Knowledge
Solid understanding of the wine and spirits industry, including both retail and on-premise channels
Knowledge of provincial liquor regulations and market dynamics in Alberta
Completion of, or willingness to complete, relevant wine and spirits certifications (e.g., WSET)
