Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSales Manager Builders need a supplier who prices fairly, keeps commitments, and makes the job simpler from foundation to finish. This role owns that commercial result: profitable growth in building materials, engineered components, and home solutions. You will be judged on retained accounts, healthy margins, and orders that move from estimate to delivery without surprises. Performance Objectives Grow profitable revenue with home builders and trade customers by winning specified packages and repeat orders, not one-off quotes. Protect gross margin through accurate takeoffs, clear scope, disciplined pricing, and a stronger mix of manufactured and finishing products. Shorten the path from inquiry to confirmed order by aligning sales promises with estimating, design, manufacturing capacity, and delivery dates. Maintain a credible forecast of pipeline, bookings, and at-risk jobs, and flag margin or schedule variance early enough to act. Close quality, schedule, and billing issues before they cost the next project, and leave a clear record of what was fixed. Set a consistent standard for outside sales coverage so follow-up, quotations, and site or yard service convert into booked work. Environment & Resources You will work in person with a small, established team across sales, design, manufacturing, and operations, reporting to senior leadership. You will use our estimating, job-costing, and ERP tools, with authority to shape account plans and pricing within approved margin guidelines. Field time with builders is expected; a valid driver’s licence and clean abstract are required. Essential Qualifications Proven sales results with builders, dealers, or contractors in building materials, components, or residential construction. Hands-on ability to read plans, support takeoffs, and explain how prefabricated walls, trusses, and related systems affect cost and schedule. A track record of managing price, mix, and gross margin—not volume alone. Experience coordinating estimates and deliveries with operations so commitments match capacity. Clear communication with customers and non-sales colleagues, including written follow-up and basic pipeline reporting. English fluency and comfort working independently in a practical, in-person operation. Role Selling Points Full-line offering: materials, engineered components, climate-controlled prefabrication, and finishing products in one relationship. Work that is visible—your quotes become houses, not abstract targets. Room to influence pricing, product mix, and how sales and manufacturing work together. Benefits that include pension, extended health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and an employee assistance program. A straightforward culture that values dependable service and quality workmanship. Call to Action If you can win builder work and keep it profitable, send your résumé and a short note on how you have grown margin as well as sales. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. We look forward to hearing from you.
