The Position
Reporting to the Risk & Assurance Supervisor, the Safety Coordinator will promote safety by advising, influencing others and supporting all workers on the journey to zero harm. This position will participate with the safety team to ensure safety program is appropriate, current and implemented to reduce the risk of injury to everybody on site and provide health and safety technical expertise to various departments
Key Responsibilities
Development of the daily incident/injury report
Coordinate the Weekly Safety Report and management of leading indicators program (JSOs, PTOS, Safety Tours, CCVs, etc.)
Support incident investigation at both levels (Loss Causation and ICAM) across all departments
Development of the monthly Crew Presentation
Support security function at site, ensuring access is controlled according to existing process
Document control tasks, including quality review and process management
Support the operation through planned Pre-Work HSEC reviews and ad-hoc JSA development
Conduct targeted spot audits/field checks in the workplace (surface and UG), as directed
Performance of assigned Critical Control Verifications
Act as a subject matter expert on the OHSA, Reg 854, and all other applicable legislation
Administration of the site KSS system - update users for active and inactive employees, crews, passwords, permissions etc.
Support the development of site-wide communications for Hazard Alerts, FYI’s
All other duties as assigned
Skills And Qualifications
University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent
2 – 5 years of mining experience
Knowledge of the laws and regulations as it pertains to mines and mining plants
Knowledge of site-specific policies and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent skills in computer software/applications
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Capable of prioritizing and organizing workload and assigned tasks and completing work in timely manner
Compensation And Benefits
Competitive total compensation package including:

Annual compensation of CAD$79,000 to CAD$99,000.
