Job DescriptionJob Description RQ11288 - Sr. Software Developer 1-year contract (250 business days) - possible extenion ONSITE 5 days - 222 Jarvis St 5th floor Security Level: CRJMC Must-haves: 10+ years' experience in developing n-tier Enterprise applications Expertise in application design, latest design patterns, deployment and troubleshooting Expertise in JPA or Hibernate, and Spring Boot Framework Proficient in database design and SQL development, with solid expertise in PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, Azure Cosmos DB JavaScript / TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular Experience gathering and documenting requirements from business stakeholders Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Nice to Have (Highly preferred): Experience building cloud-native, internet-facing applications Agile development experience - Scrum, User Stories, CI, and test automation etc. Experience with middleware, API gateways, or integration services Experience leading design walkthroughs and technical discussions Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and WCAG standard Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to contribute to technical leadership and quality assurance Responsibilities: Required to translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes: Developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining and conducting unit tests. Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations. Translate business requirements and technical specifications into scalable, secure, and fully tested full-stack applications Develop detailed technical designs and programming specifications Write, review, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices Build and enhance data-driven applications and backend services Design and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and reliability Design and implement modern, responsive frontend components using React Develop robust backend services and APIs using Spring Boot Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments Support application deployment, data migration, and system integration activities Collaborate with cross-functional teams through code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies Ensure all solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and accessibility standards (AODA compliance) Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and standards Provide technical support for implementation, system integration, data conversion, and migration activities.
