Registered Nurse - Psych City/State: Rapid City, South Dakota Shift: 12 Hour Variable Contract Length: 12 weeks Start Date: 08/24/2026 Job Description: The Registered Nurse - Psych will provide comprehensive care to psychiatric patients, including children, adolescents, and adults, on a flexible schedule. They will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering medications, and documenting care plans within a behavioral health facility. Responsibilities: Administer medications (injectable and PO), evaluate care plans, note progress, and document all care. Conduct admission screenings, assessments, and discharge planning. Manage patient restraints as necessary, using verbal de-escalation and physical techniques. Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, managing wound care, and conducting EKGS. Collaborate with the team using a Team Nursing approach; manage end-of-shift reports. Requirements: Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing. Required certifications: BLS and CPI (preferred prior to start). Ability to physically restrain agitated patients if necessary.
