Restaurant Prep Cook at Harding's Family Restaurant — NeverHard

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Compensation: $11 hourly Responsibilities: Abide by food safety guidelines and implement COVID-19 safety measures in all food prep areas and stations where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is used Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces Keep all prep and workstation areas organized and equipment hygienic and sanitized at closing Qualifications: Prefer someone with some kitchen prep experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it is not required Basic familiarity with operating kitchen equipment Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays and be willing to pitch in working extra hours at the supervisor’s request Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift About Company We are looking for a passionate, hard-working person who wants to be part of our team and take ownership and pride in what they do.
