Your role
Radio-Canada Acadie is seeking a curious, resourceful and well-connected journalist to enhance its news and information offering in northern New Brunswick. This expectation is that person will be covering the news for the Restigouche and the Chaleur regions for all our plateforms : digital, radio and television.
You will have demonstrated success in your role by gathering information from various sources and compiling it into stories that meet the editorial team’s expectations. You must also be proactive and pitch story ideas and angles. In addition, you must be comfortable delivering live reports on all of our platforms. Your work will be governed by CBC/Radio-Canada’s journalistic and broadcasting policy and protocols.
This role requires full-time on-site presence.
We Are Looking For a Candidate With The Following
University education (or equivalent) in journalism, communications or a related field.
Three (3) years’ directly related experience that includes proven ability in the field and knowledge of TV/radio broadcasting.
Relevant experience filing stories and delivering live hits.
Strong interviewing, writing and storytelling skills.
Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s mandate and its Journalistic Standards and Practices.
Knowledge of social, political, cultural and economic life in Atlantic Canada.
Knowledge of issues facing New Brunswick’s French-speaking community.
Excellent knowledge of the northern New Brunswick region.
Excellent command of French (spoken and written).
Good knowledge of English spoken and written (BCC).
Valid driver’s licence.
Strong news sense, editorial judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to be resourceful and take initiative.
Interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate your day-to-day work so as to meet tight deadlines; ability to work well under pressure.
Creative, enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact and newsgathering.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
