NorthWind Land Resources is seeking a
Remediation/Reclamation Field
Supervisor
to oversee environmental field operations across our active
projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on, outdoor work
and is prepared to spend
up to 90% of their time in the field
. The Field
Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and
cost-effective delivery of remediation and reclamation programs, while
maintaining strict attention to project budgets and contractor performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day field execution
of remediation and reclamation programs, including soil stripping, excavation,
backfilling, topsoil replacement, contouring, and site reclamation activities.
Supervise and coordinate field crews and
contractors, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental
requirements, and project specifications.
Maintain responsibility for daily cost
tracking, ensuring that contractor equipment, labour, and material
charges are accurate and reconciled against project budgets.
Review and verify contractor daily
tickets for completeness and accuracy before submission, proactively
addressing discrepancies with crews or subcontractors.
Support confirmatory sampling, data
collection, and field documentation.
Provide clear, timely daily updates to
Project Managers regarding progress, costs, site conditions, and potential
risks.
Act as site supervisor and Prime
Contractor representative, maintaining compliance with occupational health
and safety legislation.
Mentor and support junior staff by
providing technical guidance and on-site training.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in
Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, or a related field (or
equivalent field experience).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive
experience in remediation and/or reclamation, with at least 2 years in a
supervisory capacity.
Strong working knowledge of Alberta
regulatory requirements, environmental best practices, and safety
standards.
Proven ability to manage costs in the
field, with experience in reviewing contractor tickets and tracking
project budgets.
Excellent organizational,
problem-solving, and communication skills.
Comfortable working in remote locations
and adapting to variable field conditions.
Familiarity with environmental data
systems (e.g., Matidor, SiteView, ESdat) considered an asset.
