Job Summary This is a Registered Nurse travel contract opportunity on the MS/Tele unit at a healthcare facility in Massena, NY. The unit operates on a day shift schedule (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 3x12 hours) with every-other-weekend coverage required. The unit does not accept first-time travelers; a minimum of 2 years of experience is required. Local candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care for patients with diagnoses including COPD, Pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out Perform interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as clinically indicated Administer blood products per protocol Manage and maintain central lines, peripheral lines, and PICC lines Start and maintain IVs Care for patients with CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal Manage and maintain BiPAP/CPAP equipment Manage High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, and oxygen tanks Provide non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration Implement isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:6; Nights 1:7; Weekends 1:8 Required Skills MS/Tele clinical skills Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Use of Rapid Response/Code teams Blood product administration Central line care/management Peripheral line care/management PICC line management Starting and maintaining IVs CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) care Seizure disorder management Substance withdrawal management BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management Nasal cannula management Non-invasive airway management Oxygen administration Oxygen tank management Isolation precautions/PPE Epic EHR proficiency (Required) Education Requirements NY RN License required (NY is not a Compact state) BLS certification required ACLS certification required Required Experience Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required Unit does not accept first-time travelers Work Environment / Physical Requirements Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts) Every-other-weekend (EOW) coverage required Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:6; Nights 1:7; Weekends 1:8 Scrubs: Any nursing uniform color Local candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Important Notes This unit does not accept first-time travelers Local candidates must be more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify NY RN License is non-negotiable; NY is not a Compact state About the Client Industry: Healthcare This client operates in the healthcare sector with typical roles including Registered Nurse positions across specialties and allied health roles.
