About the Role
Mount Royal University Cougars Athletics and Recreation is seeking a Recreation Facility Attendant to support the operation of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. This role includes facility checks, event set-up and take-down, equipment and space preparation, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week.
Shifts are scheduled for afternoons and evenings, Monday through Friday and morning through evening on weekends.
Responsibilities
Conduct facility checks ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the recreation facility.
Assist with set up and take down for Cougars varsity games and special events (indoors and outdoors).
Ready facilities and equipment for external and internal university bookings.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining recreation facilities, including fitness equipment.
Assist with outdoor recreation facility maintenance and operations.
Provide laundry services for various university departments.
Provide superior customer service to all facility users.
Provide general support to all recreation staff.
Qualifications
Availability to work evenings or weekends or holidays (provide availability with application) with shifts that vary between 7 am and 11 pm
Standard First Aid and CPR (within 2 months of hiring)
Positive customer service skills with an open attitude to working with a diverse population
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish effective working relationships and work as a member of a team
Salary:
$15.45 - $19.44 per hour
