Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Coordinator to join our Civil division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities on civil construction projects, ensuring all work is completed in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. This role will focus heavily on underground utilities, earthworks, concrete, drainage systems, and overall site quality management.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily quality inspections for civil activities including excavation, compaction, concrete work, underground utilities, drainage systems, and paving
Verify line, level, alignment, workmanship, and compliance with project specifications and approved drawings
Coordinate and oversee field and laboratory testing including soil compaction, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testing
Ensure all materials delivered onsite are approved, tested, and compliant prior to installation
Implement and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including coordination of hold points and witness inspections
Identify non-conformance issues and assist with corrective actions to maintain quality standards
Coordinate with survey teams to verify elevations, control points, profiles, and dimensional accuracy
Maintain quality documentation including inspection reports, test results, concrete records, and closeout packages
Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports for management and clients
Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, surveyors, and testing agencies to resolve quality concerns efficiently
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Civil Construction role
Proven experience with civil construction projects including underground utilities, earthworks, concrete, drainage, and paving activities
Strong understanding of civil construction practices, inspection procedures, and testing requirements
Familiarity with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and project specifications
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality reporting systems
Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and testing agencies is considered an asset
