Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.
SUMMARY
Reporting functionally to the Quality Control Manager and operationally to the Project Manager, the Civil Inspector will perform all Geotechnical Quality Control requirements on a project as defined by applicable codes, client specifications, and Primoris procedures.

JOB DUTIES
Onsite inspection of soils/Classification of soils.
Review of Compaction testing and monitoring for earthworks, sieve analysis and maximum dry density proctor) for granular materials.
Review and monitoring of pile installation.
Reviewing project specifications and drawings for all awarded projects to determine quality requirements and planning and implementing their execution.
Ensuring quality control/quality assurance of field work, field data analysis and interpretation, engineering calculations, and report writing.
Assisting with preparing and ensuring quality plans, ITP’s, etc. are finalized and approved by the QC Specialist and/or QC Manager prior to commencement of project execution.
Assisting where requested with internal ITP kickoff meetings for awarded projects.
Preparing, distributing and kicking off job QC documentation binders with own forces and sub-trades.
Attending field sites to assess/monitor performance of QC third party testing agencies, where required;
Review of third-party documentation (Pile Installation Reports, Concrete Compression Reports, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 5 years of related experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geotechnical (Civil or Geological) Engineering
Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta
High proficiency in computer technology and business applications, including MS Office
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Ability to Audit third party companies
Ability to work in a confident, self-directed manner prioritizing a high volume of work
Strong interpersonal skills capable of leading a team
