The Senior PVF Estimator Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the organization's success by accurately identifying, interpreting, and quoting PVF products specified in various project documents. The incumbent collaborates with Outside Sales Reps and Customers to develop solutions, ensuring accurate supply levels and maintaining orders in accordance with job schedules.
With a keen eye for maximizing profitability, the Senior PVF Estimator Project Manager engages with vendors, negotiates project pricing, and identifies opportunities for volume buys. Proficient in navigating vendor catalogues, they contribute to creating favorable business conditions for IMS. Beyond these responsibilities, Senior PVF Estimator Project Manager actively supports the meeting of deadlines, understands customer needs, and fosters relationships that position IMS as the preferred choice for plumbing and hydronics materials.
Cores Responsibilities:
Product Identification & Quoting
Read and interpret the PVF products on a job specification, scope of work, or RFQ documentsto be quoted by IMS
Accurately prepare and enter quotes into the IMS ERP system for customers and Outside Sales Representatives.
Review and apply relevant vendor catalogues to ensure correct product selection and specifications.
Customer & Sales Collaboration
Partner with Outside Sales Representatives and Customers to understand project requirements an develop effective material solutions.
Maintain ongoing communication to ensure accurate supply levels throughout each project.
Manage project orders to ensure materials are delivered in accordance with customer schedules and project milestones.
Understand customer deadlines and coordinate with Purchasing to ensure products arrive when required while minimizing unnecessary inventory carrying costs.
Provide exceptional customer service by responding to technical inquiries and supporting customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Look for and suggest ways to maximize profit for the Company and provide value to the customer within the acceptable specifications.
Vendor Relations & Pricing
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors that will create favourable business conditions to secure competitive pricing, reliable lead times, and accurate delivery schedules.
Request and negotiate project pricing from vendors to improve margins and overall profitability.
Work closely with vendors to resolve project issues that impact customers or project schedules.
Collaborate with Purchasing to maximize project pricing opportunities, identify volume-buy opportunities, and align on pricing strategies.
Understand the customers deadlines and work with purchasing to ensure product is available when needed, but not before to reduce unnecessary inventory holding time.
Profitability & Process
Monitor project deadlines, milestones, and deliverables to support successful project execution.
Identify opportunities to maximize company profitability while providing value within project specifications.
Coordinate and assign work to Project Coordinators as required.
Work collaboratively across departments to support operational efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience with PVF and plumbing products sold through wholesale distribution channels.
2 years of experience working with:
Bid Specification,
P3,
Design Build,
Industrial/Institutional MRO RFQ,
Government MRO RFQ.
Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven fast paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, Order Entry Software and Internet Information Gathering/Research.
Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Customer-first mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence.
Nice to Have
Experience identifying and implementing improvements to quoting or fulfillment processes.
Familiarity with hydronics products and systems.
