Our client is a well-established industrial distributor serving customers across Canada. They are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join their Purchasing team in a support-focused role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who enjoys working with data, coordinating multiple moving pieces, and ensuring everything is accurate and accounted for. You do not need previous purchasing experience. The company is willing to train the right individual who demonstrates exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
What You'll Do
Working closely with the Purchasing Manager and Purchasing team, you will play a key role in supporting purchasing, receiving, and logistics activities across the business.
Responsibilities include:
Process high-volume material receipts accurately and efficiently
Update purchase orders, ETAs, and system information in real time
Maintain detailed purchasing records and expediting notes
Coordinate inbound shipments from suppliers across Canada
Review purchase orders, shipping documents, and receipts to ensure information matches accurately
Assist with freight and logistics coordination
Communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding shipment status and order updates
Support inventory, receiving, and purchasing processes
Assist with various administrative and departmental projects as required
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with details and keeping things organized.
You'll be responsible for ensuring purchase orders, shipping documents, receipts, and system information are accurate and aligned. The right person enjoys solving problems, spotting discrepancies, and keeping multiple priorities moving without sacrificing accuracy.
Qualifications
2-3 years of administration, coordination, customer service, or office support experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced problem-solving and follow-up abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Fast and accurate keyboarding skills (50-60 WPM)
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
