Take ownership of a mixed residential and commercial portfolio while joining a privately held real estate development and construction company as they continue to grow their income-producing property portfolio. Your New Employer Your new employer is a privately held real estate development and construction company based in Surrey, with a growing income-producing property portfolio. Historically operating as a merchant developer, the company is now focused on building out its long-term rental and commercial holdings and is looking to formalize and grow its property management function. The current portfolio includes a newly completed purpose-built rental building, commercial units, and several residential rental properties. The company has a close-knit, entrepreneurial culture where people take ownership of their core role while also supporting the broader team when needed. Your New Role As Property Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of a mixed residential and commercial portfolio. The role will include managing tenant relationships and day-to-day property operations, coordinating repairs, maintenance, vendors, and service providers, reviewing leases, supporting recoveries, reconciliations, and operating cost processes, and working with accounting on property-level financial information and reporting. You will also conduct site visits and inspections as required, support the implementation and ongoing use of Yardi, identify opportunities to improve processes and tenant service, and assist with broader real estate or field-related work where appropriate. You will work closely with senior leadership, accounting, construction, and field management teams. While there is existing administrative and accounting support, this will be a hands-on, end-to-end role where you will be expected to take ownership and help improve processes as the business continues to grow. What Sets You Apart You bring three to five years of property management experience and are comfortable managing a mixed portfolio. You are confident in your ability to provide accurate information to support reconciliations and decision-making. You are proactive rather than reactive, detail-oriented, and able to build trust with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders. You will stand out if you are entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and comfortable in an environment where people do not say, “that’s not my job.” This is a role for someone who wants to grow with a company, help build structure, and become a key person as the portfolio expands.
