PROJECT MANAGER
for its Design & Construction department. The position is a full-time position that requires working at our Home Office located at 8223 Sherbrooke Street, Vancouver with travel across Metro Vancouver as required. This role is a mix of on-site and office work, with occasional evening or weekend work depending on project schedules. SCOPE OF POSITION
The Project Manager reports to the Director, Design & Construction. This position leads the execution of capital projects, renovations and major repairs across our portfolio of restaurant locations in the Greater Vancouver area. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of construction, facilities and operations. You'll be responsible for delivering projects quickly, efficiently and with minimal disruption to active restaurants. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own Project Delivery
Lead end-to-end execution of:
Restaurant refreshes, renovations, and other capital projects
Equipment replacements ( HVAC , kitchen, refrigeration)
Urgent and reactive capital repairs
Build clear scopes, budget and timelines
Work Closely with Operations
Coordinate work around live restaurant environments
Minimize downtime and guest disruption
Partner with Regional Managers and General Managers to execute smoothly
Schedule after-hours work when required
Manage Vendors & Trades
Build and manage a strong network of contractors and trades
Run bid processes where appropriate
Hold vendors accountable for quality, timelines, and communication
Drive performance through clear expectations and follow-up
Control Budgets
Own project budgets from estimate through close-out
Track spend in real time and prevent cost overruns
Approve invoices and manage scope changes
Support capital planning across all locations
Ensure Compliance
Ensure all work complies with:
BC Building Code
WorkSafeBC requirements
Vancouver Coastal Health regulations
Manage permits, inspections, and approvals
Improve the Portfolio
Partner with Facilities and Maintenance teams to reduce recurring issues
Turn reactive problems into proactive, long-term solutions Ensure Compliance
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
4 + years in facilities, construction or project management
Experience in restaurants, retail or hospitality environments
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
Strong understanding of:
HVAC and refrigeration systems
Commercial kitchen equipment
Restaurant buildouts and renovations
Excellent vendor and stakeholder management
Ability to prioritize, make decisions, and move quickly
Comfortable with project tracking tools (Excel, Asana, Monday, etc.)
Experience with facilities systems ( CMMS platforms) is an asset
Able to read drawings, scopes, and quotes
Excellent written, communication and analytical skills.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $ 70 , 000 -$ 90 , 000 and a comprehensive benefits package. Final agreed salary may vary based on experience, skills and the unique strengths the successful candidate brings.
