Project / Maintenance Engineer.
This position reports to the Engineering Superintendent and acts as a technical advisor to the Operations Superintendent in their area. You will recommend procedures, methods, materials, and specifications relating to the equipment in the area, reduce costs, and increase productivity of mill operations. You will learn best practices for the equipment in your area and use those practices to improve Cariboo Pulp. Previous experience is preferred but junior level applicants will be considered.
You'll Do
Detailed engineering and project management of maintenance and capital projects
Major maintenance, turnaround planning, budgeting, and executing
Leads and manages mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety and legislative standards
Act as a liaison to vendors and consultants to resolve recurring maintenance problems
Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting alongside experienced engineers and technicians with a hands-on, curious mindset
Specify and optimize equipment to maximize reliability and performance
Responsible for suggesting and preparing annual & 5-year plan maintenance projects for the area
Oversee the pressure vessel, piping, and tank integrity program for associated equipment
Responsible for the safe and efficient installation of new equipment and major repairs to existing equipment, which may include boilers and auxiliary equipment
Experience in developing project from FEL-2 onwards
Knowledgeable to solve straight-forward problems within mechanical engineering and able to work with other disciplines to effectively integrate designs into systems
You Have
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering
Must be registered as EIT or P.Eng
Minimum 3-4 years of experience
Pulp mill experience would be preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills, sound engineering judgement, and attention to details
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent skills in all forms of communication
The motivation to learn new skills and advance into progressive technical/leadership roles
The desire to grow and succeed
A valid driver’s license
Compensation Package
The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The range is between $84,600 and $121,000 per year
