Job DescriptionJob Description PROJECT ACCOUNTANT Vancouver, BC $65-80K Full-Time About the Role We are partnering with a well-established construction client in Vancouver to hire a Project Accountant to support active construction projects from inception through closeout. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in construction project accounting , including job costing, progress billing, WIP reporting, and subcontractor financial management. You'll work closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting across multiple active projects. This is a key role supporting project performance and financial integrity during critical delivery and closeout phases. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle project accounting across active construction projects Maintain accurate job cost reporting and ensure alignment with budgets Prepare and support progress billing, draws, and client invoicing Monitor WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules and revenue recognition Track commitments, change orders, and subcontractor costs Partner closely with Project Managers to provide financial insights and forecasting support Support month-end close, accruals, and financial reporting requirements Ensure all project financials are reconciled and complete through project closeout What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in construction project accounting (GC or subcontractor environment preferred) Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, progress billing, and change orders Experience working with construction accounting systems (e.g., Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, Jonas, or similar) Solid Excel skills and strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple active projects in a fast-paced environment Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field Who You Are Strong ownership mindset—you take responsibility for the accuracy of your work Comfortable working in a project-driven, deadline-focused environment Collaborative and able to work closely with Project Managers and site teams Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to identify discrepancies early Calm under pressure, especially during billing cycles and project closeouts Why This Role Work with a well-established construction organization in Vancouver High exposure to live projects and end-to-end project lifecycle Strong collaboration with operational and project delivery teams Key role supporting upcoming project closeout activity Stable, long-term opportunity with growth potential If you're an experienced Project Accountant looking to make an impact in a growing organization, we'd love to hear from you.
